Ok so I had an idea for another red one.

Ok I finished another red one so now I have to balance it out by adding some more. So basically I made it hard for myself now by adding more tractors.

One more tractor for the day

I finished 1 more tractor for the day. I belive this may be the last of the stock tractors. That is created for the game. But I am not sure yet. I still want to do some "special Super Stock Tractors that can be bought. This is one of my least favorites in the new game. I like the one at the bottom but the rest are just OK.

One for you eagle guys.

You eagle guys will like this one. this one will make an apperance in the new game.
As you can see from the last few days I am getting big into the graphics of the tractors. I am realy enjoying this. So far there are 8 tractors. I don't know how many I will finish. I am thinking about 12 to 15 stock tractors and then each will have its upgraded model avalble either by upgradeing or purchasing the tractor. I think all in all about 30~40 tractors will be in the new game each with their own features.

Here is another tractor sample panel for you guys to stare at for a while. Hope you like it it will show up in the new game when it is released.

Thanks
Carl
Ok guys Final Track Count is in.
There will be 64 Tracks in the new game.
I have a demo of the map layout on the site now here is a picture of the east coast Region.
Below is the link to the Demo Map Page. It is downloadable. you will need to download it and unzip it. It is on the Beta test page.

Also if you find any errors on this report them on the forum.

I will let you know more as I go.

Update

I have worked for a while today to get the Map section of the game working So fare it is about 300 lines of programming and it seems to be working well. To this point I have all of the map done except the east coast and new england section. Still going to be a long process. After I finish the maps I may start on some graphics for the tracks. I already have some base graphics but I want each track to be different in some way. there is so far 43 tracks. I expect that there will only be about 60 tracks not the 100 that I expected but 60 is still enough tracks to be different. I will load some graphic samples when I get them.

Tractor Icons for windows desktop computers

You guys are going to like this I hope it works for you.

I now was able to create desktop icons for on your windows desktop that are in the shape of tractors

Below are a few samples

you can download these and many more at the following link

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/Downloads.htm

I researched and researched how to make these icons so my new game would show up with a custom Icon on the desktop and low and behold I figured out how to do it so I made a bunch up using the tractors I have already drawn up. I hope you guys like them

If you have trouble downloading them or installing them please let me know on the forum. http://forum.mullermotorsports.com

Reprogramming at a good start

I have started to reprogram the game now. I worked several hours this weekend on it and now I am back almost to where I was before. The Result of the re-programming is very good. The game runs faster than before and it looks better. I have modified the tracks a bit. The Grand Stand Looked kinda corny so insteed of putting alot of detail into the side of the track I figured I would focus on the track. So the Track is now a bit bigger but there is not alot on the sides of the track. I have built in different walls and such on the sides of the track so you can see that they are indeed different tracks but it is no grandstand now people none of that stuff just a realy nice looking track.

I have so much work in this game already and there is still alot to go. Thank you all for your support with this game. I hope that when it finally comes out that it will be satisfiying to you guys. I am not sure at this point what features will be new or what features to expect in the game but I will say that it will be unlike any other tractor pulling game out there. (partly because there is no other tractor pulling games out there except mine and this one will blow the doors off of the others I have made.

I am now taking the day off. I have worked enough. I am now Off to Church.

set back

i have been set back a bit by a new idea. I found a new way to program that was not realy avalable to me until now. It will make the game a bit better and I think it is worth it. So some of the stuff that is already programmed will need to be changed a bit to make room for this other new stuff. I know it will be worth it. So as of right now I will be going back and redoing some of the background stuff for the map. I know you guys will like the result. I know it doesnt mean much to you guys but the new game will be programmed using action script 3 a much better protocol than the last ones.

Thanks

Woooooo Hoooooooooooo!!!!!

I figured out how to get the game to save and I actually got a demo to work. I am now able to save the game which would save which tractor you have what options are installed how much cash you have had which region you were playing in how far you made it. I got a sample to work to do just that. I will need to work a bit farther to make it able for the game to be saved as multiple users. right now one game installed gets means only 1 game save. I will work more and get back to everybody.

Sucess

Tonight I would concider a success. I have worked alot tonight on the map layout system. So far I have the Entire west coast done. there are 7 tracks on the west coast. This was a major test to see if the idea would work. After Several 100 lines of code the maps work. now when you go into the west coast region you can see the locations of the track and select your home track.
I still have alot to do but I have made it work quite well so far.

Here you GreenBlooded fellers go. I had to put some green ones in the game as before the top one is the stock tractor and the bottom is the built up version for the super stock class.

Friday, July 13, 2007

Here is my latest update. I have added the air pressure adjustment panel to the game. It is a bit different in that you can adjust individual pressure

Here is another sample tractor I finished you can start off with this stock tractro and move up to the superstock or at the very bottom the flaming superstock. Just one of several that will be in the new game. Notice the weights in teh front. they will only show up if the weight is moved to the front of the tractor.

Not working right

I worked for about 4 hours tonight on 1 program that will make a tach and clutch work. and it worked kinda nice. I tried to throw it into a game situation for a demo and it stopped working. I will try again some other time. I am kinda fed up with it for now. I gave up for the night

Need tractor pics

Hey if anybody wants a tractor that looks like theirs put into the game Please post a picture on my forum http://forum.mullermotorsports.com I can not guarentte that it will look exactly like yours and I can not guarentee that it will even make it to the game but I need some pics to work off of. They can be anything from a stock to a super stock.

Old Idea to be tried again

after thinking long and hard about some of the feedback I have received on the forum. http://forum.mullermotorsports.com I am going to try to add a feature to the new game that I worked with for a while before but then gave up because it was not working well. I am going to do some experiments with a clutch, tachometer and boost guage for the new game. I tried this in the past with little sucess. but I am going to work on it to see if it will work. the plan is to have a tachometer that raises when you push down the Arrow key. then when your rpms build your boost guage will go up. the smoke will darken then you push the space bar to disengauge the clutch. It is still in teh thought process if development right now and I can not promise that it will be out in the new game yet but I plan to develop it.

Also I am working on a way to change the fuel over from Diesel to Alcohol in the game. I will most likely make that a purchaseble optioion for the unlimited superstock class.

Let me know what you would like to see on the forum at http://forum.mullermotorsports.com

Thanks
Carl

Here is the first tractor that is finished for the new game. I hope you guys like it. The top picture is the stock tractor that would be purchased at the begining of the game. the bottom tractor is the super stock that would be built up during the game.

Let me know what you think of these tractors at the forum at http://forum.mullermotorsports.com
Here is a picture of one of the upgrade panels it now has all the information built in except tractor make and model. Notice that is filled with a space holder. There are 4 levels of upgrade to the engine 4 levels for turbo. 2 for clutch 1 for gearbox. 4 for tires. and a few others for safety equipment. also you will have membership levels that allow you to run different levels of pulling. the are 2 different trucks also to haul your tractor. (tried to make it realistic) This programming is done. Now I will be able to build the rest of the game around this panel.

It is not much but it is a major start. alot of time went into this.
Enjoy. Let me know what you think in the forum at http://forum.mullermotorsports.com

One of the guys on the forum at http://forum.mullermotorsports.com shared this clip

I am told the guy was not hurt.

Worked alot tonight on the game

Got alot done.

I was able to finish the Tractor upgrade section. I found one missing piece of information that I will be fixing and then it will be complete. I will post pics tommorow of the finished upgrade panel. I am sure you guys will like it alot. This is the section that is realy going to make the game set itself apart from the other games that have been made. I am currently working on a way to save the game. At this point I will only be able to have on game saved on each computer but I am currently working on a way to try to save and load several in one game.

I resized the game to give it a bit more space. the game is now 1024 x 700 pixels. that fits near perfect on most screens. I am also working on ways to shrink it for smaller screens.

Keep checking back for more updates.
I was slightly puzzled on a small aspect of the programming of the new game. I believe I have fixed the glitch. So as of right now I have finished the graphic backgrounds for the upgrades section of the game. I am now working on the actual programming for this section. By the end of today I should be done with the upgrade panel for the game.
That is one very crutial step. in building the game.

I will update later

Saturday, July 7, 2007

I was just looking back through the last couple of years worth of work and I thought it was very interesting how far this game has grown.
It started out as a very crude game.

The First Online Game
The first game consisted of a rectangle with different color rectangles around it that kind of looked like a tractor. It had a 150 ft track. which was what we ran with the antiques so I just through that in. You could change the color of the tractor by pushing different keys. It also had a special feature built in that was funny fuel. When you pushed the N button.
You can play this version here

http://www.mullermotorsports.com/tpull2.htm

The next Step
Version 2.1 came out and was very soon replaced by Version 2.2 to fix a few errors. It contained a white tractor that looked alot more like a pulling tractor. it was a top side view game that set the basic parameters for all of the games to come. It contained air pressure adjustments and also weight adjustments. This game was very advanced programming for me to do since It was only the second game I had ever programmed. I was very much learning as I went.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/TPull2b.htm

Enter the T-bucket

After programming version 2.2 I decided to see if I could get some website hits from the 2wd truck pullers out there. I programmed the 2wd truck pulling game using alot of the same graphics and programs that was used in 2.2 I added in a T-bucket 2wd truck and called it a game. You can play that game here.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/TruckPull1.htm

Bring on the Dust and smoke

Just about a year after the first game came out I realized there was something missing from these super stocks. Thru some suggestions from the website. Dust and Smoke were added to the game. It became version 4.2 (4.1 never worked right) It was still crude but It was alot better looking. sure the smoke came out of the center of the hood when the front end came up and the smoke kept going after the tractor stopped sometimes but it was smoke none the less.
You can play this game here

http://mullermotorsports.com/PullZone/games.htm

I wanna see some Color

The biggest complaint I got while version 4.2 was out was that nobody wanted to run a white tractor. That is when I added the Red and Green Tractor. This version was called 5.0 and only was the main game for about a week. Also with those tractors the programs got completly re written to add a slider that actually changed the weight from the front to the back and also the Tire pressure was now set up in .5 psi increments and you could set that alot easier. the dust and smoke problems were mostly fixed. It was starting to look a bit different and at that time I was starting to feel more comfortable programming.
you can play that game here

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/pullzone5.htm

Difficulty levels

After only 1 week a new game was programmed from the old one. I got a complaint from some people that the game was too easy and from others that the game was too hard. So to compensate for that I created difficulty levels. There were 8 levels total in version 5.1
you can play that game here.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/pullzone5a.htm

When you beat the game then what??

I had alot of complaints that when you beat level 8 you are just done there is nothing there. So from this the bonus round was formed. In version 5.2 there were 12 regular levels and 12 bonus levels. The bonus levels featured an Alcohol burning tractor that had to make a full pull. if you failed to get a full pull in any of the bonus round you would end your game. this game hung aroudn for a long time.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/pullzone5b.htm

What about the trucks

I got alot of e-mails from some guys asking when there would be a 4x4 truck pulling game coming out. To tell you the truth it would have never came out without all the folks that asked where it was. But with their support I built truck pulling version 1.1 it was built using the same basic layout of the pulling games but it had trucks added in. you can play that one at

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/4x4pull1a.htm

Don't tick off the diesel fellas

Wow what a mistake. apperently the guys that were e-mailling me where not into 4x4 gas powered trucks they were diesel pullers. so within a week of version 1.1 coming out version 1.2 came out featuring 2 diesel trucks and 1 gas truck.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/4x4pull1b.htm

A more precision game.

Larry from truckpulls.com was a huge help in designing the 4x4 game version 1.3. he wanted some specific things in this game and he got it. Front and rear air pressure. gear Ratios. This is actually the most advanced game to date. (I can not even get past level 5 without my programming notes lol) I realy thank those guy at www.discountpowerparts.com and www.truckpulls.com.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/4x4pull1c.htm

Friends from over the big pond wanted a game

Our British friends started to tell me that they wanted to see 100 meter tracks not 300 foot tracks. So I built a special game just for the Brits. It contained a new sled and a new meter measureing system(I took the feet measurement and divided by 3 and through a block in that read that number out, don't tell the brits but the feet reading is still there it is just covered up with the meters lol)

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/britpullzone5b.htm

I want that on my site

I decided that I would be generous. I decided to let anybody put some of my games on there websites. I only required that they keep some links around the game. now over 50 sites worldwide have my games on them.
you can add them to your site by going to

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/addgames.htm

A long dry spell

I worked for a few months on sound samples to try to get sound into the game. I worked for a while on a new game only to have a virus take over my computer and destroy it. In the mean time alot of time went by and nothing new came out. I was working on alot of things like painting my real life tractor and getting ready for a new baby.

Modifieds Anyone

I built a game from the old game that had modified tractors it turned out very good. It features
4 tractors 1 turbine engine 1 with a 12 cylinder engine and 1 5 engine tractor. It also has a bonus tractor but you will have to get to the bonus round to see what that is.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/modifiedpullzone1a.htm

New website

I redesigned the site to try to make room for all the games. I also added. a bunch of other games that I did not program to the site to make it more fun. I picked up the domain name www.turbosmoke.com (I still love that name)

Energized again.

A few weeks ago My wife had a baby our 3rd son.
I took a week and a half off from work to take care of things around the house and while I had spare time in that week and a half I finished several games.(don't worry I still took care of my wife and kids)

2wd truck game updated

It took long enough but while working on some graphics I decided to draw some 2wd trucks. So I put them in a game and it turned out very well. It is here

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/2wdtruckgame2a.htm

Big Rigs....need I say more

The most requested game ever was the big rigs game. I however did not know much about big rig pulling I saw it at the buck 2 or 3 times and a few times on tv but that is it. So I drug my feet on this for a long time. but then I decided one day to do it. here it is

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/SemiPullzone1a.htm

One last update to the Super Stock Game.

I changed the tractors so they looked better. I now included a blue tractor and also an advanced red and green tractor. the track got changed up a bit this became version 5.4.

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/pullzone5d.htm

But wait theres more

I changed one more thing on the Super Stock Game I added a bit better handling. Now when you pull the tractor does not go strait up the track it moves with the track alot better. This was kind of an unexpected addition but it realy adds to the game play that was version 5.5

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/pullzone5e.htm

Beyond that I am now working on the new game called Turbo Smoke. it will be a bigger game that will be out on CD. I have a few other games that I have used to test programs for this new game they are all at

http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/BetaTestMain.htm

I realy hope you enjoyed this trip through the history of tractor pulling games.

I am not the first game to include tractor pulling. As a matter of fact Bigfoot for the NES had tractor pulling in it. I am however the designer of the first online tractor pulling game. I hope some day to have my game on a major system such as playstation or XBox but it will be a while and it will be alot of work. Thanks for your support.
I have layed out the Track names tonight for the major tracks in the new game.

there are 15 total. and it was very hard to think of names for all 15.

Next I have to think of names for all of the small tracks. there is about 100 of the small ones so it is going to be tricky to think of names for all of these. I want to avoid locations and names of real places in this game for the simple fact that I know if I named it after the real place I would get tons of e-mail saying "It looks nothing like my track what have you done" So if I pick any names for tracks that looks like your home track I am sorry in advance if it doesnt look like yours It is not supposed too.

I also have been working extensively watching video clips and watching how the tractor performs. I want the tractor in TurboSmoke to look and handle like a real tractor. I have never actually sat on a super stock tractor so I have to rely on the video. I am only an antique and garden tractor puller so this is all new too me.

I have had to do alot of research on air pressure and components of a super stock. I hope I get it right or at least close. So far on Research alone I have several 100 hours possibly in the thousands total. I have about 50 hours so far in graphics. 10 hours was getting the people in the grand stand drawn.(very annoying). I only have about 10 hours in programming so far and all of that is in the test game that tested how to change from light to dark smoke and from simple tractor to super stock.
That game is located at http://games.mullermotorsports.com/tractorpullinggames/BetaTestMain.htm
That game is based off of Pullzone version 5.4 and has been modified to test some section graphics.

Programming is my weekness. I am actually a self taught programmer. I learned how to program while doing my first game which was very crude. and kind of anoying.

What is the fun of just getting a full pull.... It is more fun to get a full pull while you are on fire.

I found this video wile I was doing "research" for the pulling games
Good Close up at the end of what happens when the insides of the engine want out.

Ok here is a review so far to what is going on with the new game.

Anything here is possible to change but this is what is going on for now.

General
The new game will be called Turbo Smoke.(great name since it matches my website.)
Unlike before there will be no number after turbosmoke (example pullzone 5.4)

Possibly Turbosmoke 2 or 3 to come out in a year or two to be a better more full version but there will not be 1.1 or 2. 1

This game will be released on CD sometime hopefully before the end of the year possiblly next year (dependant on how fast I can program it)
There will be 3 levels of play (local, Regional, National

Tracks

I hope to have over 100 pulling tracks in the game.\

All tracks will be fictional (made up).

there will be 7 regions to pull in

there will be 15 different major Tracks. (approx 2 per region)

The National Level will be made up of all major tracks.

Below is a sample shot of one of the tracks complete with the crowd in the stands
Tractors

There will be 4 classes of pulling (stock, Hot stock, Limited Super Stock, Unlimited Superstock.)

You will have several tractors to choose from and several options to add to the tractors.

You will need to work your way up from the stock class. thru the different levels and classes to win as much money as you can to pull the best you can.

You will be able to upgrade turbos, Engines, Tires, Gearbox, clutch, and other things.

Below is a sample of the Upgrade window. This will be filled in with other information. about the current configuration of the tractor.

Game Features

you will be able to save your game from time to time. at this point you will only be able to save one game at a time on a computer

This game is being programmed in my spare time so it may take a while to release. bear with me.

This game will be larger than the old tractor pulling games. it will be aproximatly 800 x 600 resolution.

Beta Testing

I will be selecting a few people to do testing on this game before it is release to the public. They will be selected from the most active users on the forum at http://forum.mullermotorsports.com/ these people will get to play the game at least a month before it is released to the public. if you are wanting to be a beta tester on the new game keep watching the forum for details on becoming a beta tester.

That is it for now.

Keep checking back I will add more in the future.
Welcome to the new section on the turbosmoke site. appreciate the support that I have gotten on the forum for the last few months. Don't worry the forum is not going away. It is still at
http://forum.mullermotorsports.com I will still be posting things on the forum that will not show up here. I also still want any Ideas that anybody has for the new games or the site to go on the forum. This site will be used to keep you guys up to date on the tractor pulling game that will be coming out. Check back as I will update this site frequently.

Thanks
Carl
